We’ll dive into the wisdom of Ayurveda and deepen our journey through writing to facilitate the reconnection with our inner essence. \nJoin Jeremy Ann Anderson\, Ayurvedic practitioner and adventure guide\, and Bridget Crocker\, author and whitewater explorer\, on a journey down Costa Rica’s Pacuare River to a remote rainforest ecolodge. We’ll dive into the ancient wisdom of Ayurveda and deepen our journey through writing to facilitate the reconnection with our inner essence and the natural world. \nWe’ll enjoy several outdoor adventure activities\, all of which tie-in with the writing and Ayurveda curriculum to facilitate shifts in perception and deeper understanding of ourselves. In addition to Class III-IV whitewater rafting on one of the world’s most scenic\, pristine rivers\, there is an eight-zipline course over the Pacuare River beginning and ending at the Lodge. We’ll enjoy tubing along a gentle stretch of the river in addition to experiencing numerous waterfall pools directly adjacent to the common areas ideal for swimming and frolicking.  Naturalist-led creek and garden hikes are scheduled daily. Guided meditation and gentle stretching/yoga will further deepen connection to ourselves and nature. SUMMARY:Recharge in the Rainforest Retreat with Savonn and Stacey
DESCRIPTION:This is the retreat where we all get to laugh\, play\, rest\, explore\, adventure\, eat well and make new friends. Stacey and I co-lead five nights at Rios Lodge\, a remote eco-lodge on the banks of the Pacuare River — one of the top whitewater rivers in the world. There are no roads in. You raft or hike to get there\, and from the moment you arrive\, the outside world drops away. \nThe days are full but not rushed. Morning yoga on an open-air deck overlooking the river\, then off into the rainforest — hiking up creek beds to hidden waterfalls\, ziplining across the Pacuare River gorge\, tubing through rapids\, and spotting toucans\, sloths\, and blue morpho butterflies along the way. Evenings are for long dinners\, cold drinks\, and the sound of the river. \nWhat makes this retreat special to me is the combination of adventure and surrender. You push yourself on the river and on the trails\, and then you completely let go — in a hammock\, in a swimming hole\, or in a restorative yoga class while the rainforest hums around you. It’s a reset like nothing else. \nThis will be my third time at Rios Lodge. The guides and staff feel like family at this point\, the food is incredible\, and the Pacuare River never gets old. The group size is around 18\, and every year people arrive as strangers and leave as friends. \nThe retreat is open to all levels — you don’t need to be an advanced yogi or an experienced rafter. The guides are world-class\, Stacey and I teach to the room\, and there’s always a hike-in option if rafting isn’t your thing. \nWhat’s Included\nFive nights at Rios Lodge\, daily yoga with Stacey and me\, whitewater rafting in and out of the lodge\, guided rainforest hikes (including the legendary waterslide creek)\, a zipline canopy tour rated one of the best in the world\, river tubing\, all meals\, and group transport from San José.
