November 4, 2024 - November 9, 2024
Join Blue Ridge Adventure Medicine for an unforgettable ecolodge rafting and conservation retreat with a Continuing Medical Education (CME) program at Rios Lodge, nestled in the rainforest along Costa Rica’s Pacuare River. The CME program dates are November 4-6, 2024, with the option to extend your stay another 2 days for Nov 7-8 to participate in a ACA River Rescue Workshop and local guide training course, then rafting out from Rios Lodge on Nov 9. Participants must be in San Jose on 11/3, and should fly out no earlier than 11/10.
Prepare for a truly immersive educational experience blending medical education with Costa Rica rainforest wilderness exploration. For more information and to reserve your spot, visit Blue Ridge Adventure Medicine here. During this unique expedition, participants will engage in hands-on learning guided by expert medical faculty and local guides. Through partnerships with Rios Lodge, the Rivers and Forests Alliance, and the local guiding community, you’ll have unparalleled access to Costa Rica’s natural wonders.
Participants are responsible for their own transportation to and from Costa Rica. Participants must plan to fly into San Jose, Costa Rica the day before the retreat starts, and plan to fly out the day after the retreat ends. Transportation from San Jose to and from Rios Lodge is included in your program.
This CME program also will feature a special free medical training session for the Pacuare River community, echoing the success of our 2023 initiative. This opportunity allows us to give back to the community and enables participants to contribute while enhancing their medical skills. Join us!
