REMOTE RAINFOREST LODGE
The Rios Lodge is located in Limon Province on the Atlantic side of Costa Rica. Our lodge sits beside the beautiful Pacuare River, in the middle of the rainforest. The nearest towns are Santa Marta, and the small community of Bajo Tigre. Check out our amazing location on Google Earth.
NO VEHICLE ACCESS TO LODGE
There are no automobile roads that go directly to Rios lodge. All guests, staff, and supplies come in either via hiking the trail or rafting down the river. Getting here is definitely part of the adventure fun! When we say we are a remote lodge in the rainforest, we mean it!
TRANSPORTATION OPTIONS
Costa Rica and International Guests – We can’t wait to welcome you here! Transportation from Turrialba, Costa Rica, is included with every lodge package, whether you are rafting in or hiking in. Turrialba is approximately an hour drive from the hiking start, or rafting center meeting place.
We also offer transportation shuttles to help you get here from various other pickup locations in Costa Rica as an additional service when you book a stay at the lodge. We can pick you up at the San Jose airport, Puerto Viejo, or Siquirres. Shuttles from Turrialba are included already in your lodge stay.

Guests are shuttled here from San Jose to prepare for their rafting or hiking into Rios Lodge. Guests change here into rafting or hiking apparel/gear and can securely store any unneeded luggage here.
