Can I book as a solo traveler?
Yes, solo travelers are absolutely welcome at Rios Lodge! However, to confirm availability for rafting or hiking into the lodge, we recommend contacting our reservations team directly at reservations@rioslodge.com or through our contact page. We can guarantee availability for two or more travelers in a single booking, but for a single traveler, we need to check if we can add you to an existing group for the journey in.
What are the room options for solo travelers?
You have choices! You can book one of our Deluxe Rooms or Suites for a private experience. We also have our Eco Rooms, which are shared bunkrooms. You can book a single bunk bed in an Eco Room, or if you prefer a private Eco Room, you can reserve all 8 beds.
Will I be able to meet other people?
Absolutely! Rios Lodge has wonderful common areas where guests gather, and all our guided activities like rafting, hiking, ziplining, and river tubing are group activities, providing plenty of opportunities to socialize and meet fellow adventurers.
Is it safe for a solo traveler?
We have strong safety protocols in place for all activities and throughout the lodge. Our expert guides are highly trained and certified in CPR and Advanced First Aid, ensuring a secure and enjoyable experience for everyone.
How do I get to the lodge as a solo traveler?
All Rios Lodge stays include transportation from San Jose right to the Pacuare River. You'll be picked up from your hotel in San Jose, and then join a group for the journey to the river, where you'll either raft or hike in with our expert guides.
