The Rios Lodge Eco-hostel is the first of its kind along the Pacuare River, offering budget-conscious groups & travelers the opportunity to experience a part of the Costa Rican rainforest you can only reach by raft or foot. Sustainably built, immersed in the rainforest on the Central Caribe side of Costa Rica, our rainforest resort hostel is eco-friendly in materials, construction process, and operation.

We have eight bunk rooms total, Each bunk room sleeps up to eight guests, with eight bunk beds in fully screened rooms. Rest in your stunning and thoughtfully crafted open-air bunk room, connect with other travelers in the common lounge and covered deck area, and explore the surrounding nature with optional guided adventures and activities!

The newest addition to our ecolodge, the Rios Lodge Ecohostel, is a beautifully built building with two wings  perched on the hillside overlooking the Pacuare River. The ecohostel is designed to offer a lower-budget lodging option for groups, students, and independent travelers. Along with fully-screened rooms and spacious shared bathrooms, our ecohostel has a large covered deck that is perfect for group gatherings, retreats, yoga practice, and more. 

Rios Lodge was intentionally built to have as small a carbon footprint as possible, using renewable energy and reclaimed materials wherever possible. All materials to construct the ecohostel were meticulously transported by raft to minimize impact on the surrounding ecosystem. Fully immersed in the remote Costa Rican rainforest, you can enjoy the sights and sounds of the river and surrounding wildlife right from your bunk. 

The listed High and Low Season Prices reflect single occupancy per night, per bunk bed. Meals, lodge access, any extra activities (most activities are included in your stay), taxes & fees are not included in the ecohostel per bunkbed starting price. When you book your Rios Lodge  stay, your package will be for your desired number of days and will start with the ecohostel single bunkbed price, and then meals, transportation to/from San Jose, and guided rafting or guided hiking into the lodge, are added onto that ecohostel room price for your total package price, plus taxes and fees.
